About The Special Guests

The Special Guests stopped making work together in early 2010, and this site exists as an archive.

The Special Guests made generous and playful live performance for the theatres, galleries and beyond between 2002 and 2010. Based in Bristol, UK, the company were Arnolfini Associate Artists and founding members of Residence. Although no longer working together, the company’s members continue to work making theatre and hope to collaborate on projects together in the future. The performances explore the experience of living in the contemporary world, the relationship between us as performers and friends and the feeling of being live, on stage, in the moment with each other and the audience. Our work has been performed in theatre spaces, galleries, back rooms of pubs and on the streets. In each of these contexts, what remains most important to us is our relationship with the audience, and how we exist in space, with you.
